MS Dyn. CRM 3.0 on MSDN

For all of the developers who have access to MSDN subscriber downloads, I do have great news! The RTM version of MS Dynamics CRM 3.0 is ready to download!

On MSDN there are 2 versions available:
- CRM 3.0 Professional Edition
- CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition

The MSDN licence keys are available in the keys section.

Hi Ronald,

I looked on there but and see them listed under "New in Subscriber Downloads:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition (English)

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition (English)"

But it's plain text with no hyperlink, and it doesn't show up anywhere else on the site! Were you able to actually access them?

Hi Chris,

You should be able to download them. In the menu go to:
Microsoft Business Solutions -> Customer Relationship Management(CRM) -> CRM 3.0 -> Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition, Disk 1(English).
If this link is not there, then it might be possible that your subscription level doesn't allow you to download CRM.

Hope this helps,

Ronald

Hi,

Can I upgrade this version of CRM 3.0 on CRM 4.0 Pro version?

Is there any known issue?

Thanks :)

Depending on how many of the code examples from this blog you used, you can easily upgrade. You will need to be cautious with unsupported scripts and solutions like many of the ones which are described here.

Make sure that you make a backup of your system before upgrading so that you can go back if necessary.

Great!

But what about licences? On the MSDN version I have 10 CALs, but on Proversion, there are 25. Are MSDN licences upgradable?

Thanks,
Natasa

Please let me come back to my previous answer. You can upgrade the MSDN CRM 3.0 environment to CRM 4.0, but since you will use the MSDN license for CRM 4.0 as well, it will automatically use the CRM Enterprise version. The difference is that you can use the multi tenant feature of CRM. For developing your solution it should not matter though if you are using Pro or Enterprise. Is there any specific reason why you would like to upgrade to Pro?
